Worktrade

Worktraders are a vitally important part of the event – we couldn’t do it without worktraders! It also works well for the workers – it’s a great way to get to know people, to become a contributing member of the community and make good friends while earning a good discount off of the registration price.  We have many worktraders who return year after year and have become a tight knit group within the larger community.  Working at the event is a rewarding way to creatively contribute to the overall experience for everyone.

If it is your first year at the Congress, we have you start with doing a half-trade to allow us to get to know each other and to give you enough time to experience the event.

For 2024, we have worktrade positions in the kitchen, helping with food prep and clean up, in the tea kitchen brewing tea and coffee, helping manage the composting toilets, and in the kids area. There are a few positions helping with clean up after the event which requires staying until Monday afternoon.

Worktraders are required to stay the full duration of the event, arriving by Thursday afternoon and staying until Sunday afternoon at least.  For those who are able to stay until Monday, your hours are spread over the longer time period.

Worktrade registration is 50% of regular registration, the trade is 10 hours.
