Directions

From Seattle, it is fastest to take I-90 over Snoqualmie and route 97 over Bluitt, although if you are north of the city it may be faster to take Route 2 of Highway 20, depending on how far north you are.

From I-90, take exit 85, the second Cle Elum exit, marked to Wenatchee via 970 and 97. Take 97 over Bluitt pass. On the north side of the pass it joins with route 2, take a right to Wenatchee. Route 2 and 97 take a right exit as you enter Wenatchee, they then cross the Columbia River and take a left at a t-junction. Follow Route 97 to Pateros, take a left onto highway 153. Just after mile marker 21 on highway 153, take a left onto Libby Creek road.

If you come over Highway 20 - go over Washington Pass and down into Winthrop. turn right at the stop sign, and follow highway 20 south through Twisp. Two miles south of Twisp, that road turns into Highway 153 and route 20 takes a left turn. Stay straight on highway 153 and follow it south through Carlton. One mile south of Carlton turn right onto Libby Creek Road.

Libby Creek Road forks twice, once at 2.5 miles and again at 4 miles from the highway - stay right both times. From the second fork go 2 miles to the end of the road (past the USFS sign), and go through the green gate.

Skalitude is 4 hours from Seattle, 3.5 hours from Bellingham, and 3 hours from Spokane.
