A FEW ASTROLOGICAL COMMENTS ON THE FAIRY & HUMAN RELATIONS CONGRESS 2006

A look at the astrological chart for our opening ceremony this year, which will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23rd, shows us as usual with the Sun early in Cancer, and at this time, right at the top of the chart. Cancer represents our roots, our ancestors, the old traditions, and the depths of our feelings. The Sun is our identity. With this Cancer Sun being right at the top of the chart, this indicates that our work is that of illuminating our roots, shedding light on our ancient traditions, the ways of the ancestors. Adding to this energy is Pluto, representing dark, hidden ways, and magical and healing energies, at the very bottom of the chart, opposite the Sun, indicating that the roots of our work lie in these healing and magical energies that have lain hidden for so long. Pluto represents the underworld, precisely where, according to some of our teachers like R. J. Stewart and Lord Orion Foxwood, the realm of Fairie lies. Perhaps our Workings will be extra powerful this year. And our Cancer Sun also represents the deep nurturing, physical, emotional, and spiritual, that we all give and get at these annual gatherings. 

The Moon in our chart will be in Gemini in the ninth house, and will remain in Gemini for most of the gathering, until early Sunday morning, when it will enter Cancer. This Gemini Moon stimulates our minds, and sets us up emotionally to be in a learning mode. Gemini represents the energies of communication, learning and teaching. And it IS especially fortunate this year to be in the ninth house of higher learning and education. Then Sunday, once the Moon is in Cancer, we’ll find ourselves a bit more emotional, a little more ready to deal with our feelings rather than our thoughts. 

Our opening chart’s rising is in Libra, indicating an overlay for the whole gathering of beauty, graciousness, and harmony. This is enhanced by Libra’s ruler, Venus, being in a very auspicious aspect to our rising sign. And this aspect, along with Jupiter’s residence in the second house of money and resources, is indicative that perhaps this year our gathering will prosper economically. The Moon’s nodes lie along the ascendant/descendent axis, with the north node conjunct the descendent, indicating our need at this gathering to focus on cooperation and to work on overcoming our own self-centeredness.
