FAIRY CONGRESS NEWS

June 16, 2005

Workshop Schedule posted.

May 28, 2005

The Congress is looking more exciting every day!

Many are already assembled on the fairy realm.

At this point our participants list is up to 185 adults as well as 36 children and teens. More will register in the next four weeks.

We are extending the deadline for the $195 admission price from June 1 to June 10. After June 10th admission is $250. Teens $40, Children $25.

Our one-day (non-camping) rates are:
  • Friday $60, Saturday $75, Sunday $50
  • Friday night with concert $20
  • Saturday night with parade $20
The Fairy Congress has many facets.
  • The workshops are numerous and well attended.
  • The big circles (two a day) are fun and inspiring.
  • There is pageantry, color and music galore.
  • There are quiet meditation times for communing with the fairy and devic realms.
  • The congress is a fun gathering and at the same time, a serious gathering. The biggest goal of the fairy congress isn't to entertain people. It is to enable each of us to better communicate and co-create with the fairies. To aid in rebuilding the bridges between our two realms. Everyone who attends is a delegate from the human race to the fairy race. Consider yourself an ambassador.

ABOUT FOOD

Everyone is welcome to eat at the fairy kitchen and most people do. Our dedicated kitchen staff and volunteers produce a wide array of tasty food. Please help with one meal doing prep, cooking, serving or clean-up. Thanks.

Meal times are very important because they are also great social events when almost all voices are speaking at the same time!

We are still looking for a person to coordinate the raw food line and another person for salads.

This year we are going to offer 3 different meal lines:
1) Raw food only. 2) Vegan. 3) Vegetarian.

Bring food to donate to the kitchen. We buy a lot of bulk food but we rely on participants to round out the variety. You can bring one or several items. Snacks for the children (and adults), fresh fruit and vegies, almonds, walnuts, nuts, jam, juices, etc. We do accept eggs and dairy, but no meat please. Best of all is food you grew or prepared yourself.

For questions about the kitchen contact Mary McNutt,
541-964-5341, maerious@efn.org

Good drinking water is available. There are cold showers and swimming in the Hood River.

FAIRY CONGRESS AS VILLAGE & SCHOOL

Imagine setting up a village, festival and school for 300 people in a magical forest. Everyone has to be fed. there needs to be water and power and shelter. A stage, workshop areas, tea kitchen, first aid, healing area, children's area, art gallery, information center, shops signs, etc. etc. There are many tasks to set up and keep the village running smoothly. We ask everyone to lend a hand with a few hours in the kitchen or other service areas. Thanks.

Co-ordinators still needed for the following posts.
  • Sign-making
  • Decoration
  • Flowers
  • Sprouts
  • Raw food meal line
  • Salad queen/king

CHILDREN'S CENTER

This year we will have more children than in the past. Last year's children's area was wonderful. This year it will be coordinated by Raven, Michelle Mahler and Diane Garris. Parents or guardians of children using the space will be the main caregivers but everyone is encouraged to help as well. Would you like to lead a workshop or activity for children? For questions or communication about this contact Raven at 425-257-9664, raven@ravenmedium.com

FAIRY ART GALLERY

If you are bringing art to display please come prepared to provide your own mountings. There will be a fairy art gallery opening on Friday evening 7:30-8:30. For questions contact Mary Heagle, 206-799-8385. catfairy17@hotmail.com

LOGO ARTISTS

We would like a Fairy Congress logo. Something beautiful, yet simple and bold enough that it can be shrunk down. Please bring (or send) your submissions for display in the fairy art gallery.

NURTURING NOOK

Every year we have had an area where healing practitioners could give treatments to those who wished. Massage, reiki, acu-tonics, and other healing modalities are offered. If you would like to offer your services to those who need some nurturing energy at the congress please contact Mary Gossard and Scott at 206-463-9040, channelchi@hotmail.com

OFF-SITE LODGING

The Hood River Chamber of Commerce website www.hoodriver.com has contact information for most of the local motels and bed & breakfasts. Hood River is a popular recreation area and most motels and B&Bs are already pre-booked for the June 24-26 weekend. However rooms open up because of cancellations. Sola Radiance at the Riversong Sanctuary is keeping an eye open for rooms that are available. Contact Sola at 541-354-3633. oneness@gorge.net

  • Small handbills.

It is getting late in the game for this year's publicity, but we are also laying seeds for the future. If you'd like to distribute or post material let us know what kinds and how many.

Love the fairies wherever you are. Their presence permeates the natural world - the forests, meadows, gardens, waters and sky. they serve all life in this physical world.

Over the past four years about 600 humans have attended the congress on the physical plane; but
thousands more have heard about the congress from friends, writing, posters or the internet. Part of our mission is to let people know that such gatherings exist as it encourages and inspires people to link up with fairies. Just knowing about the Fairy Congress has brought a smile to many lips.

If you cannot attend in person, please send your good tidings and well wishes. We in turn, will send our combined blessings from the congress to all those who have linked up with us in spirit.

The fairies and devas send you their love and blessings.

April 25, 2005

Dear Fairy Friends,

Isn't it amazing that Earth has so much magic and fairies and illuminated souls and at the same time it has such human depravity and suffering.

Daphne Charters' writings gave a view of those dimensions both above the earth plane and also those below it. What we see on Earth is also found on other planes and in greater measure. In other words there are great depths and great heights on the other planes.

Humans, indeed all beings, are continually learning no matter in which dimension they exist in. We are all evolving towards the One.

Is it not amazing and delicious that the Fairy Congress is meeting on the physical plane this June 24-26. !?! That hundreds of us who are friends of the fairies can get together and celebrate and communicate in the charged atmosphere of our devic allies.

Each of the past four congresses has been sweet beyond telling. Each year we deepen our connections and our love.

Each year is also unique. What magic will this year bring? Who will attend? How many will attend?

As the main human coordinator I have many things to juggle:
  • Lining up the presenters
  • Producing the posters and brochures and website
  • The Publicity aspect
  • The registration aspect
  • The coordinators aspect
  • The set-up phase
  • The Congress itself
  • Cleaning up & taking down.

Mary Heagle typed up a set of guidelines for the fairy art gallery and it is going up on the fairy congress website.

WEBSITE EXPERTISE?

Cindy Jacobsen has done a lot for the website. She and her family are moving to BC during this period, so it is even harder for her to find time. We put out the word that we need someone else to collaborate with her on putting things up on the web, and Mathael from Eugene has offered to help. Perhaps there are others with expertise and desire to help on the website…?

If you know of anyone planning on attending … encourage them to register or at least check in. It encourages me and helps to pay the bills.

In my last email I gave the names of the 25 staff so far. Since then Mary Getten has agreed to help focalize the dishwashing area and Damiana will assist with arranging rides. At some point we will publish on the website all their names and jobs and how to contact them

It looks to me like we need more publicity - but my time is very limited. Please ask yourself what you might be able to do to help with publicity for April and May.

I have produced a new version of the poster with Peter Tompkin's name on it. Both large (11" x 17") size and half size. + A REVISED BROCHURE which lists Peter Tompkins and the other 3 new presenters:
  • Jessica Macbeth, author of the Faeries' Oracle (illustrated by Brian Froud),
  • Jennifer Vyhnak is coming again from Vermont. Shoshana
  • Avree, a shaman and friend of Mary Getten,
  • And the latest is SeaHeart from Port Townsend who will talk about orbs. + small handbills.

Let me know how many of these (if any) that you'd like me to send you. You can make copies if you like.

There are 29 official workshop presenters plus the 7-member band Woodland… + We know we are all presenters.

At this point I know of 124 adults and 19 children planning to attend.

I expect there will be a lot of humans, as well as innumerable fairies, devas and beings of light; and that we will have a fantastic time.

We are all evolving every day

May the flame in you leap higher every day…

See you at the Fairy Congress.

Have you all looked at the photos from last year's fairy parade on the website? There are thousands of orbs in some photos, almost obscuring the humans.
