About the Human/Fairy Meditation
Each
of the three previous Fairy Congresses have been stimulating
and joyful events. The 3rd annual Fairy & Human Relations
Congress was very magical. All three have been held at the Skalitude
Retreat Center in a wild mountain setting on the east slope of
the North Cascades. In 2003, 300 people attended. One of our goals
when we started the Fairy Congress was to have the most world-renowned
people working with the fairy realms as speakers. This goal was
realized this year as we had both David Spangler and Dorothy Maclean
(of Findhorn fame) as speakers as well as R.J. Stewart and an
additional 25 excellent presenters.
We
are excited that the 4th Congress will be held at a new location.
We will miss Skalitude but the Riversong
Forest Sanctuary has a lot to offer us. For one thing the
property is bordered on one side by a wild stretch of Hood River,
which drains the north slopes of Mt. Hood, the tallest mountain
in Oregon at 11,240 feet. The town of Hood River is known
as the wind-surfing capital of the world since it is located in
the middle of the Columbia River gorge where it cuts its way through
the Cascades. The wind whistles thru this lowest gap in the whole
Cascades making for great wind surfing on the wide Columbia River.
We will be in the territory of the Devas of the Columbia Gorge,
the Columbia River, the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Hood and the Hood
River. Riversong Sanctuary is situated in an old oak forest wherein
we will hold this gathering. Located midway through the Cascades,
Hood River valley has characteristics of the western maritime
climate and the hotter-dryer interior climate. Elements of the
floras of both climates live at Riversong, In June it will be
lush, green and many flowers will be blooming.

There
will be many more. 25 presenters were listed in the 2003 congress
brochure. Every year we have added some new presenters and a few
presenters can’t make it. But every year the number of presenters
has gone up. It is noteworthy that every year most of the presenters
want to come back. For descriptions of these workshop leaders
see the 2003 Congress archives.
This year we have asked a number of new people to consider joining
us. Anyone who has ever attended the Fairy Congress is always
welcomed back. We are family!

The
location change will mean that some people will have to drive
further and some will have a shorter drive. This year's location
will make it easier for people in southern Puget Sound, Oregon
and points south. For people flying in it will be a much shorter
drive since Riversong is only one hour drive from the Portland
airport while Skalitude is 5 hours from Seattle/Tacoma airport.
Thus far Puget Sound has been where the majority of Congress human
participants have come from, but we are increasingly having people
travel from other parts of the country to attend. In 2004 we expect
to attract a large return crowd from western Washington, an increase
in the numbers of people from Oregon and more participants from
outside the Pacific Northwest.
Many
people have come to all three gathering and almost everyone
who comes want to attend again. So we hope that many of our past
participants will be with us again. You are encouraged to sign
up early this year, as Riversong Sanctuary can only handle 350
humans, and this may be the first year the Congress cannot accomodate
all who wish to attend.
The
Congress is a gathering of humans and fairies to improve relations
& assist each other in planetary healing.
2004
admission fees are:
Before
June 1........$195
After June 1..........$250
Students ................$75
Teens 13-17......... $40
Children ................$25
Registration
fee includes all workshops, meals and camping. Partial work-trade
options are available. Inquire.
About
the Joint Human-Fairy Meditation
We have moved
the meditation period to a more prominent place in the schedule
because we wish to increase that element of the congress. A time
when almost everyone is listening for what the devas& fairies
have to communicate to us.
Each
meditation period has several components:
A brief
introduction, 5 minutes
30 minute silent meditation
5 minute silent period for people to write down messages.
10-minute period for small groups to share what they received.
10 to 20 minute period for sharing messages in whole group.
These time
periods may vary a bit depending on the time allocated.
As
usual, the Congress will take a lot of volunteer energy
before and during the event. If you would like to help please
contact us.
May
you all be blessed by the fairies, angels and the One Great
Light which is in all.

Dorothy Maclean
Dorothy Maclean is
one of the original founders of the Findhorn Community and known
worldwide for her pioneering contact with the inner voice of
the sacred and for her work with the Angels of nature and nations.
Dorothy has probably done more than any other single person
in the 20th century to popularize the idea that humans can communicate
with devas. She is truly one of our honored elders (in all the
best meanings of the term).
Dorothy Maclean was
one of the three founders of the Findhorn community in Scotland.
Following her inner contact with the divine she also came to
communicate with the devic or angelic realms that over-light
all aspects of existence. This helped Findhorns legendary
gardens bloom on most unpromising soil. Dorothy's earlier work,
To Hear the Angels Sing, often republished, contains many of
her communications with not only the essences of plants, but
with minerals, animals and groups of humans too. In her book,
Choices of Love, Dorothy talks in a detailed way about her own
inner practices and attunement to the Beloved. She gives suggestions
for the reader's own practice, and information she has received
from the over-lighting presences of cities and countries. To
Honor the Earth, a beautiful book with photographs by Kathleen
Thormod Carr, details communications with devic realms. Born
in Guelph, Ontario, Dorothy now lives in the Pacific Northwest.

Dorothy Mclean's
workshop is "God, Humanity and Nature. This workshop will explore
our capacity to tune into inner divinity as a source of wisdom,
love and power for contacting the essence of all life and the
intelligences of nature.

a philosopher, writer and educator in incarnational spirituality;
the integration of spiritual values, energy and presence into
everyday life. He is executive director of the Lorian Association
and past co-director of the Findhorn Community. His books include:
Everyday Miracles, A Pilgrim in Aquarius, The Call, Parent as
Mystic, Mystic as Parent, Blessing: the Art and Practice and
others. David Spangler has been active in the spiritual field
since the middle sixties. Since a child, he has had conscious
awareness of and communication with supersensory worlds of spirit.
It is out of that contact that his work has evolved. Website:
www.lorian.org
David Spangler's
workshop will be on "Kinship With All Fairies". Human beings,
fairies, devas and angels are all cousins. This workshop will
explore the kinship between ourselves and the Fairy Kingdom,
the links between the fairy world within us and the fairy realm
of the world.
